Neurodiversity
Many adults are just now learning (or at least starting to suspect) that they may be neurodivergent, and this makes sense when we consider the exposure ADHD and Autism have recently had in terms of understanding how it can present differently in various populations.
However, the pathways to diagnosis and support are still difficult to find and access, especially if you're not sure if it applies to you and don't know where to begin in finding out.
Talking to someone who understands neurodiversity and what it can be like to live with these conditions is a great place to start. We can help you make sense of your experiences, provide new context and support you in developing new coping strategies. While we are unable to diagnose you (this is best left to a qualified Psychiatrist), we can help you navigate this new perspective of yourself in an affirming, non-judgemental way.
Trauma and PTSD
Trauma is a deeply distressing or disturbing experience that can have a lasting impact on an individual's mental, emotional, and physical well-being - and a key part of this is that there are no rules for what a person may find traumatic, it is very personal and is different for everyone.
Therapy is a powerful tool in working through those traumatic experiences, which may be showing themselves as symptoms of PTSD such as (but not limited to) intrusive thoughts, anxiety, panic attacks and nightmares.
We are committed to supporting you on this journey and help you get back to feeling more like yourself - whatever that looks like - and we understand that you might feel like you'll never be the person you were before the trauma again. Together, we can face the past and focus on leaving it where it belongs so that it no longer impacts on your present.
Interpersonal Relationships
Relationships are a fundamental part of our lives, providing us with love, support, and connection. However, they can also be really complex and present challenges or conflicts that may be difficult to navigate. Whether it's communication problems, trust issues, or tackling life changes, relationship struggles can significantly impact our well-being and they reach every aspect of our world.
At Thrive, we are committed to helping you build stronger, healthier relationships. We can provide a compassionate and non-judgmental space to help you make sense of the challenges you face and support you in developing new strategies to help work through conflict.
